Searching and Sorting Projects
As your project list grows, search and sorting help you find the right project faster instead of scanning the dashboard manually.
Searching and Sorting Projects
As your project list grows, search and sorting help you find the right project faster instead of scanning the dashboard manually.
Search
Project search is useful when you already know part of the name or want to quickly narrow the list down.
In practice, search typically filters the visible project list as you type.
This is especially helpful when:
- you have many active projects
- several project names are similar
- you need to jump back to an older project quickly
Sorting
Sorting changes the order of the project list so you can view it in the most useful way for the moment.
Common sort styles include:
- newest or oldest first
- alphabetical by title
- last modified or most recently updated
Different sort orders are useful for different tasks. For example, recent activity is useful when returning to current work, while alphabetical sorting is useful when you know the name.
Archive view
Search and sorting may also apply in archive-related views, which helps when you have many older or paused projects stored there.
Practical tip
If your dashboard starts feeling crowded, use search when you know what you are looking for and sorting when you want to reorganize how the list is presented.
That combination is usually faster than scrolling through everything manually.
