StoryBoards is organized around a workspace, then the project you open inside it. Here is how you move through the interface.

Projects Dashboard

The first screen after login. Shows projects in the current workspace (header: Select workspace). From here you can:

  • Create a new story
  • Search, sort, and filter projects
  • Open a project to start editing
  • Archive or delete projects you no longer need

Inside a project — Flow experience

The Flow experience uses a tabbed layout across the top of the screen:

  • Story — the Script Editor. Write, paste, or import your story text. The AI can also help you write using the Ghostwriter. After a Story Wizard run, the formatted script with scene markers appears here.
  • Concept — a freeform canvas for brainstorming with shots and notes. Drag those nodes around and organize beats before committing to a storyboard structure. Manage characters, props, and backgrounds in the Story Inspector (right panel), not as canvas nodes.
  • Board — the main storyboard workspace. New projects often land here with the Story Wizard panel open. Scenes are displayed as rows or groups; shots appear as cards within each scene. Use the left AI gutter for AI wizard, shot tools, and image batch actions.
  • Video — the video timeline. Turn shots into video clips, arrange them in sequence, add transitions, and export.

Inside a project — Classic experience

The Classic experience uses separate pages:

  • Editor — a combined view of your script and storyboard shots. Good for working on script and visuals side by side.
  • Board — the storyboard grid view, same data as Flow's Board tab.
  • Video — the video/timeline workspace, same data as Flow's Video tab.

Create View (Shot Editor)

Hover any shot on the Board or Concept canvas, then click Create or Edit on the image to open Create View. This is a dedicated workspace for generating and editing the image for that shot. You will spend a lot of time here. It offers:

  • A prompt editor for describing the shot (type / for character and slot chips)
  • Modes such as Generate, Edit, and Sketch
  • Art direction for the project look
  • Reference image slots — drag portraits, props, and locations from Asset Manager (see Reference-based generation)
  • A results gallery for comparing variations

Close Create View to return to the Board.

Story Inspector

On Board and Concept, the right-hand Story Inspector lists this story's Characters, Props, Backgrounds, and Styles when nothing (or the story) is selected. That is where you add and open those assets. Concept itself is for shots and notes.

Asset Manager

Press A (or click the folder icon in the header) to open Asset Manager. Inside a story, use:

  • Story — characters, props, locations, and media linked to this episode
  • Team — the workspace library (shared cast, props, backgrounds, styles, and other stories in this workspace)

Drag assets into drop zones throughout the app — for example, a character portrait into a Create View reference slot. See Asset Manager.

Header controls

The header bar (always visible) includes:

  • Select workspace — switch which production (projects + shared library) you are in
  • Experience toggle — switch between Flow and Classic
  • Credits display — your current balance
  • Asset Manager button — open/close the media panel
  • Wiki button — open the in-app help documentation
  • Share / Export — download or share your storyboard
  • User profile — account settings, seats, invites, and sign-out
