Storyboarding

This section covers the main storyboard workflow in Ciaro: working in Board view, setting up characters, using annotations, and managing the project structure around scenes and shots.

What this section is about

Storyboarding is where your story starts to become visual.

This is the part of the workflow where you:

• organize scenes and shots
• review coverage and pacing
• prepare characters and image portfolios for consistency
• set Art direction (project look) before generating a large board
• annotate frames with notes, arrows, or speech elements
• reuse recurring characters, props, locations, and looks from the workspace library (especially on Studio)
• refine the structure before moving deeper into image and video work

Main areas in this section

• Board View: manage scenes, shots, and the visual layout of the storyboard
• Asset Manager: this episode vs the workspace library; drag assets into shots
• Characters: set up your cast, build image portfolios, and improve consistency
• Art direction: project look for storyboard images (see Image & Video → Styles)
• Annotations: add notes, arrows, and speech bubbles to frames
• Workflow: manage project actions such as creation, organization, archive, and AI-assisted steps

Where storyboarding starts

The Projects dashboard is the main place to manage storyboard projects in the current workspace (header: Select workspace).

From there, you can create a project, open an existing one, and move into Board view to begin working with scenes and shots.
