Script Analysis

Script Analysis turns raw story text into usable production structure: formatted script content, scenes, character detection support, and optionally shots with prompts.

It is the Script Editor / import workflow. It is not the same as the Story Wizard, which runs a similar pipeline automatically for new projects.

Story Wizard vs Script Analysis

Story Wizard Script Analysis
Opens when New project create; AI wizard gutter Paste/import in Script Editor; Analyze script gutter
UI Guided steps: Story → Style → Frames → Build → Videos First dialog + processing modal
Images Generated in Build (first run free) Separate step after analysis unless you only created structure
After wizard completed Do not run again — work is already done N/A

If you finished the Story Wizard and later see Script Analysis "in progress" in the Script Editor, close it — the story is already analyzed. Running analysis again duplicates backend work.

What Script Analysis is for

Use it when you have story text in the Script Editor (or an import file) and want Ciaro to build structure without going through the Story Wizard.

Typical moves:

  • rough story text → formatted script
  • scene structure on the Board
  • optional shot scaffold for storyboarding

How users reach it

  • Paste substantial text into an empty Script Editor → First Analysis dialog
  • Import supported script files (PDF, Word, FDX, TXT, etc.)
  • Analyze script in the AI Assistant gutter (Script Editor)

Script Analysis does not auto-open after a completed Story Wizard.

What it does

Three stages (first two mandatory in the dialog):

  1. Format dialogues — screenplay-style formatting and character identification
  2. Detect scenes — scene breaks and Board structure
  3. Create shots (optional) — shot descriptions and prompts; slider for target count (5–100, plan-limited)

After analysis

  • Review scenes on the Board
  • Check characters in Entity Builder
  • Generate images per shot or via Images / Fill gaps

Best time to use it

  • You work primarily in the Script Editor, not the wizard
  • You imported a file
  • You pasted new text into an existing project after wizard or manual work
  • You want optional control over shot creation in the analysis dialog

Script Analysis accelerates structure — still review the output and refine what matters for your story.
