Premiere panel limits and troubleshooting

Requirements

• Adobe Premiere Pro 26.3 or newer
• An active Ciaro account and enough credits for generation
• An open Premiere project before bin import
• A chosen story folder before generate-and-sync

Connection problems

• If the browser never shows Premiere is connected, go back to Premiere and select Log in again. Use Abort if a connect banner is stuck.
• If login opens but Premiere stays disconnected, confirm you approved the same session the panel started, then reopen Window → UXP Plugins → Ciaro Pro.
• The panel only talks to Ciaro’s app, API, and CDN hosts. Corporate networks that block those hosts will fail downloads and generation.

Sync problems

• Could not sync this folder usually means the folder permission was lost or the folder is unavailable. Choose the folder again.
• Duplicate downloads should not happen for files already tracked in .ciaro-sync.json. If you see duplicates, check you did not pick a different root folder.
• If a local file was edited, the panel will not overwrite it with the Ciaro version. That is expected. The status line reports staged local changes or Ciaro updates kept safe.
• Unsupported media formats are skipped and listed in the status summary.

Generation problems

• Choose a story folder before generating assets means the story has no linked folder yet.
• Choose a target shot means the Image or Video tab has no shot selected (the story may have no shots yet — create shots in the Ciaro web app first).
• Failed jobs show an Error control on the generation card. Credits are not invented in the panel; insufficient credits come from the same account wallet as the web app.
• If the asset was created in Ciaro but Premiere cannot preview it, confirm the project is open and the file landed under the Ciaro Pro bins, then import or reveal the file from the story folder.

Timeline and sequence sync

The story screen Sync card can push the Ciaro sequence to Premiere (Update Premiere) or pull the open Premiere sequence into Ciaro (Update Ciaro). When unlinked, use Create in Premiere or Save to Ciaro. Select Check again after switching the active Premiere sequence.

If the status is Needs a decision, use Keep Ciaro, Keep Premiere, Keep both, or Decide later. Update Ciaro on a sequence linked elsewhere asks for Send anyway.

Limits to state honestly:

• The Ciaro Video tab shows a Premiere-compatible subset, not every Premiere finishing choice.
• The card compares Ciaro revision to the revision this Premiere sequence last received. It cannot detect unsynced Premiere-side clip edits on its own.
• It is explicit push/pull — not a live automatic two-way merge. You choose when to sync.

To move a Ciaro timeline into another NLE as a cut list, use the web app Video tab Export (EDL / XML). See Exporting Your Video Timeline (EDL / XML).
