Creating your first project

The current flow is simple: when you create a new project, the app creates a new story and opens it in Board View.

Where you can start

You can start a project from either of these entry points:

• Projects page: create a new story from the main projects workspace
• Welcome / onboarding flow: new users can create a story and go directly into the guided wizard

What happens after creation

A new story is created with a temporary working title, then the app opens the board for that story. From there, one of two things usually happens:

• Standard path: you land on the board and can begin editing manually
• Guided path: the wizard opens automatically for onboarding or wizard-driven story setup

The guided wizard

If the wizard opens, it is designed to move you through the early setup steps rather than throwing you into a blank storyboard. In the current implementation, that flow is centered around:

• reviewing detected characters
• choosing a visual style
• generating initial visuals

If your story already has script content, the wizard can use that instead of making you start from scratch.

Practical advice

Choose your path based on how ready your material is:

• Have a script or clear concept already? Start the wizard and let it help you build the first pass
• Want full manual control? Create the project, go to the board, and build the structure yourself

Good mental model

Creating a project does not mean the storyboard is finished or fully generated. It just creates the story container and opens the workspace where you can either:

• build manually
• use the wizard
• combine both approaches

That is the real starting point for the rest of the workflow.
