Script Editor AI Actions
In the Script Editor, the AI Assistant can offer contextual actions based on the current state of your story. These actions help you turn text into structured scenes and characters so you can storyboard faster.
Detect Scenes
What it does:
- Finds natural scene breaks in your script
- Creates scenes you can review and refine
When to use it:
- After your story text is in the Script Editor
- Before you start breaking scenes into shots
What you’ll do:
- Trigger Detect Scenes
- Review the detected scenes
- Adjust anything that doesn’t match your intention
Detect Characters
What it does:
- Finds characters mentioned in your story
- Creates character entries you can edit
When to use it:
- After scenes exist (or once your script has clear dialogue/mentions)
What you’ll do:
- Trigger Detect Characters
- Review characters and names
- Edit descriptions and details
Format Story
What it does:
- Helps clean up raw text into a more screenplay-like structure
- Makes dialogue and beats easier to read and process
When to use it:
- When you imported or pasted unformatted text
Recommended workflow
Script in editor → Detect Scenes → Detect Characters → Shots → Images
This keeps the process predictable and makes it easier to correct mistakes early.
