Automated Storyboard Creation (Story Wizard)

The fastest way to get a first storyboard in Ciaro Pro is the Story Wizard. It is a guided panel that runs the full pipeline for you: format your text, detect characters, create scenes and shots, generate storyboard images, and optionally queue videos.

This is a starting point, not a finished film — you will almost always refine prompts, characters, and styles afterward using the manual tools.

Step 1 — Create a project

From the Projects dashboard, click Create New Story. Name it and open the project. Ciaro navigates to the Board and usually opens the Story Wizard automatically.

Step 2 — Story Wizard: Story

Paste or type your story in the wizard panel.

• Free plans cap how many words you can paste.
• Very short stories may be expanded automatically so scene detection has enough material.
• You can opt out of auto-opening the wizard on future projects with Don't show again.

Step 3 — Style and frame count

1. Style — pick an art direction tile (Cinematic for photoreal boards, or an illustrated look). Custom styles for this story appear in the same grid once they have a look plate. You do not type a separate style sentence on this step.
2. Frames — choose how many storyboard frames to create. Free plans: 1–6 (default 6). Paid plans: use the stepper (default 10, within your plan limit).

Step 4 — Build

Click to start Build. Progress moves through:

• Format — screenplay-style preparation
• Cast — characters detected and enriched
• Scenes — scene structure on the Board
• Shots — frames distributed across scenes with prompts
• Images — a storyboard image per shot

Do not close the browser tab during Build if you want to watch live progress, but you may close the wizard panel — the job continues in the background. Use Resume wizard from the AI gutter to reopen.

Use Abort inside the wizard if you need to stop the build.

First wizard run on a project: storyboard images during this Build are free (no image credits for that first pass).

Step 5 — Videos (optional)

After images finish, the wizard may offer to turn some frames into video clips. You can accept, adjust how many, or skip and go straight to the Board.

Step 6 — Review on the Board

Switch to grid or playground view. You will see scenes, shots, descriptions, and generated images.

Refine with:

• Hover a shot and click Create or Edit → Create View to regenerate with a better prompt or mode (edit, inpaint, img2img, pose, sketch)
• Entity Builder for character names, outfits, and portrait consistency
• AI gutter actions for targeted fixes (not a full re-wizard unless you choose AI wizard again)

Story Wizard vs pasting in the Script Editor

Older docs described pasting into the Script Editor and using the Analyze Script dialog. That path still exists for manual and import workflows, but new projects should start with the Story Wizard.

If you already ran the wizard, you do not need Script Analysis when you open the Script Editor — structure and images already exist.

Re-running the wizard later

Use AI wizard in the left AI gutter (Board or Script Editor). If the story already has real content, Ciaro may ask to reset scenes, shots, and characters before a fresh wizard run.

Important notes

• Works best with a few paragraphs to a few pages of story text.
• Automated output is a draft — budget time to refine.
