Welcome to StoryBoards
StoryBoards gives you the tools to turn a script or idea into a precise, consistent visual storyboard — and, if you want, into an animated video. No matter how good AI gets, it cannot read your mind. That is why StoryBoards is built around your creative vision: you direct, the AI executes. Every tool is designed to help you build exactly what you see in your head — quickly, precisely, and with visual consistency across every frame.
The app does offer a fully automated path (paste a script, let the AI generate everything), but we recommend using the manual tools so you stay in control of the result. The automated path is a good starting point; the manual tools are how you get it right.
How you operate the app
StoryBoards works like a desktop operating system. The interface is intentionally clean — most actions are not visible as buttons. Instead:
- Right-click anything to see what you can do with it (add, edit, delete, open, reorder)
- Hover a shot and click Create or Edit to open Create View
- Click a project on the dashboard to open it
- Drag and drop to move things around and to assign media (like dragging a reference image into a slot)
If you ever feel stuck or cannot find a feature, right-click the element you want to act on. This is the single most important habit to develop. Read Core Interactions for the full breakdown.
The two experiences
StoryBoards offers two interface layouts. You can switch between them at any time using the experience toggle in the header.
Flow experience (recommended for new users) A streamlined layout with four tabs: Story → Concept → Board → Video. Everything lives inside one view with smooth transitions.
Classic experience A more traditional layout with separate pages: Editor → Board → Video. Each view opens as its own page.
Both experiences access the same project data. Pick whichever feels more natural — you can switch any time without losing work.
Where you land after login
After signing in you arrive at the Projects dashboard for the workspace selected in the header (Select workspace). This is your home base: every story and storyboard in this workspace lives here. From the dashboard you can create new projects, search and sort existing ones, open a project to edit, or archive projects you no longer need.
