Recording Voice-Overs

Voice-over recording happens inside the Video tab.

When you record there, the result becomes both:

  • a saved story audio asset
  • a clip placed onto an audio track in the timeline

What the recording controls do

The Video tab voice-over controls include:

  • track selection
  • microphone selection when more than one device is available
  • a record / stop control
  • a live waveform or input level display
  • automatic upload after recording stops

How to record a voice-over

  1. Open your project
  2. Go to the Video tab
  3. Move the playhead to the point where you want the voice-over to begin
  4. Choose the target audio track
  5. Choose the correct microphone if needed
  6. Press the record button
  7. Speak while the timeline records
  8. Press stop when you are done
  9. Wait for the recording to upload
  10. Review the new audio clip on the timeline

You can also stop recording quickly with the keyboard when recording is active.

What happens after recording

When you stop recording, Ciaro uploads the captured audio, saves it to the story, and inserts the new clip at the recorded timeline position.

That means the result is reusable later in the project and is not only a temporary timeline action.

Collision warning

If the target track already has audio overlapping the current playhead position, Ciaro can warn you before recording starts.

It helps to check:

  • which track you are targeting
  • where the playhead is positioned
  • whether that track is already occupied

Access and limits

Voice-over recording may depend on your plan. If the feature is not available on your account, Ciaro can block the action and show an upgrade path instead of starting recording.
