Workspace permissions

Permissions decide which parts of a Ciaro project a person may use after you invite them onto a seat. They do not replace the workspace itself — they only limit the tools inside it.

You set them when you invite someone, and you can change them later when you manage members in Account Settings → Teams.

The four areas

Permission	What they can work on
Script	Story text in the Script Editor
Concept	The Concept canvas
Board	Storyboard, shots, and Board / Create View image work
Video	The Video tab, timeline, and related finishing

Turn on only what that person needs. A writer might have Script only. A board artist might have Board (and often Script to read the pages). An editor might have Video.

Defaults

If you do not customize the list, a member usually has all four areas. That is the right default for a small crew that shares the whole show.

Invites

An invite must include at least one area. To take access away entirely, remove them from the seat so they can no longer open the workspace.

Pending invites can have permissions too; they apply when the person accepts.

What permissions do not cover

• They do not create a second library. The workspace library (Asset Manager Team view) is still this workspace’s shared cast, props, locations, and styles.
• They do not switch the person to another show. That is Select workspace in the header.
• Billing, adding seats, and plan changes stay with the workspace owner / Studio admin.

If someone says a tab is missing

Check their permissions for that workspace. If Video is off, they will not have a usable Video workflow even if they can open the project. If they cannot see last week’s characters, they may be in the wrong workspace or still on Asset Manager Story instead of Team — see Asset Manager.
