Character Image Consistency

Ciaro keeps a character recognizable with reference images, not by training a custom character model.

You prepare a portfolio in Entity Builder, then drop those pictures into Create View reference slots and mention them with / chips. See Reference-based generation for the full shot workflow.

How to build consistency

1. Open the character in Entity Builder.
2. Confirm the character name, description, and outfit.
3. Use Create Image to generate several strong character options (identity photos — not restyled to the board look).
4. Upload useful reference images if you already have them.
5. Use the Image editor to clean up or adapt images.
6. Select the best image as the character's current visual anchor.
7. Keep alternate portfolio images for pose, angle, expression, and outfit references.
8. When generating a shot, drag the portrait into a slot and insert a / chip.

What makes a good character reference image

• Clear face and body visibility when identity matters
• Outfit details that match the character setup
• Minimal visual clutter around the character
• Useful pose or angle for the shots you plan to create

Portraits can stay photoreal even when Art direction is illustrated. The shot generator applies the project look around a recognizable person.

When to add more images

Add more portfolio images when:

• the character keeps drifting between shots (also check that a slot is actually filled)
• a shot needs a pose or angle not covered by the selected image
• the outfit changes for a new scene or time period
• close-ups and wide shots need different reference strengths

Practical takeaway

Treat the character image portfolio as the reusable visual source. Strong prepared images in slots improve consistency more reliably than rewriting the prompt or waiting on a training job.
