When manual creation is useful
Manual scenes and shots are especially helpful when:
- you already know the structure you want
- the story is highly specific or visually planned
- AI-generated structure needs correction or replacement
- you want tighter pacing control from the start
Adding scenes
In Board view, you can add scenes manually and define what each scene covers.
A good scene entry usually includes:
- a clear scene name
- the main situation or action
- enough information to understand what belongs inside that scene
Adding shots
Inside a scene, you can add shots one by one.
A strong shot usually describes what the camera sees, such as:
- framing
- subject position
- key action
- important props or visual elements
For example, a shot description like "Close-up of Sarah's worried face as she looks toward the door" is much more useful than a vague note like "Sarah in room."
Organizing the result
Once scenes and shots exist, you can refine them by:
- reordering scenes or shots
- splitting scenes that are too broad
- tightening descriptions for clarity
- using AI only where it helps rather than for the entire structure
